Letter From Most Reverend Robert E. Guglielmone

diocese

My Dear Friends,

These are uncertain and frightening times. There are many questions we can’t answer right now: When will the children go back to school? When will we go back to work? How can I support my family if we are stuck at home? What if one of us gets sick?

One thing that remains constant is the Catholic Church and and the unwavering support that is offered. The Church, established by Jesus Christ himself, will always be here for us. Jesus promised never to leave his Bride, and we are his Church. We are the Bride of Christ.

We still have buildings to keep open. We have mortgages to pay. We need to keep the lights on in our parishes so that, when we are able to resume life again and celebrate the Eucharist together in person, our beloved worship spaces will be operational.

Your parish needs you. Our diocese needs you. Please continue to financially support your parish as you are able. Many will not be able to give right now, and that is understandable. Please take care of your families first. For those who can, and perhaps for those who can give a little extra to cover those who can’t, please help to sustain our churches at this critical time. You can give directly to your parish through their online offertory system. There will come a day, soon, when we will worship together again. As we enter into Holy Week and prepare to celebrate the Resurrection at Easter, feel the embrace of the Father and lean into your faith. Remain hopeful, pray unceasingly, and be assured of my prayers for you and your families.

In the Lord’s Peace,

BISHOP1
