Below are the protocols our pastor Father John has established for St. Anthony Parish that will take effect beginning Holy Thursday, April 1st.
The dispensation by the Bishop from the obligation to attend Mass is still in effect and has not been lifted
We will remove blocking of every other pew in the Nave of the church but will retain it for now for the side seating in the church
Social distancing and wearing masks are strongly encouraged
We will again present the gifts of bread and wine at the offertory, but the collection baskets will remain at the entrances of the church for now (no collection by ushers yet)
Hymnals will be placed back in the pews
Restrictions on singing are lifted, so when appropriate we will once again have a choir
We will refrain from exchanging the sign of peace
The Eucharist will continue to be offered under the form of Bread alone
It is strongly recommended to receive the Eucharist in the hand
Those who wish to receive on the tongue should approach the ministers of communion after those who have received in the hand
Livestreaming of the 11 am Mass will continue
There will not be a washing of the feet at the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday, April 1st.
Good Friday Veneration of the Cross will be by genuflection or solemn bow; no touching or kissing of the Cross
